Communication in today's global economy is more important and more exciting than ever before.

Mass Communications is a broad field of study with employment opportunities in television, radio, print, advertising and public relations.

Ridgewater's Mass Communication program is designed as a two-year career program as well as the first two years of a baccalaureate degree.

Students learn not only within but also outside of the classroom through hands-on assignments, field trips, tours and the production of the college newspaper.

Small classes, individual attention, as well as current curriculum and technology characterize the program.

Internships can also be arranged to further students' practical experiences.

A Ridgewater student looks over award-winning publications from colleges and communities around the state at the Minnesota Newspaper Association Convention. Students in mass communications courses take field trips to area media as well as events in the Twin Cities.
