How do I register for the Basic Activity or Activity Managment Program?
|

Step 1: Call Registration at 1-800-722-1151 ext. 8593
Step 2: Give the Registration office the Course Name, ID#, and amount of credits you wish to register for (2 or 4)
Step 3: Arrange for any tuition payment plan, facility billing, etc.
Step 4: Ask Registration for your new student ID number
Step 5: Email Julie (address below) your mailing address so further course information can be sent to you

Offering the same quality education, the Basic Activity Program and Activity Management Program is delivered in a 4 credit format that has the convenience and affordability you've been waiting for online! This 4 college credit class, consisting of four units of instruction and practicum, provides training to meet part one of the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals. Designed for the working Activity Professional, this program is delivered fully online using the Desire2Learn (D2L) platform. The online program design provides flexibility in learning, yet opportunities for collaboration and networking among students. Students can choose to complete the Basic Activity Program 4 Units in one semester (4 credits) or over two semesters (2 credits each semester). Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive an award of completion.

Description
This course will explore agencies, organization, and services available for the aging population. It will provide the student a basic understanding of aging policies that created the aging network and review programs and services provided within this network. Students will learn of community resources available for older adults, how the programs came to exist and people who use them. Textbook used for this class is Community Resources for Older Adults by Roberto R. Wacker (2002). |

| To be successful in an online class, the student must have good computer skills such as saving and retrieving documents and files, ability to conduct web searches, good time management skills and written communication skills. |

| This course is generally offered spring semester and can be used for additional college credits needed for the Activity Director Provisional Certification (ADPC) Track. |
