plan, lead, and direct
activity and leisure programs

Opportunities
Career
opportunities are available
for activity professionals
in long-term care facilities,
adult day programs,
senior centers, assisted
living, memory care,
and
retirement
communities.
The Activity
Director program is a 64 credit Associate of Applied Science degree.
The Activity
Assistant program is a 36 credit diploma. |

Basic Activity Program
(MEPAP Part 1)
|

The Basic Activity Program is specifically designed and scheduled
for those working in the field and seeking certification as an
Activity Assistant or Activity Director. The program consists of 4
credits of classroom and practicum
experience. Students have the option of completing the program in one or two semesters. The program is taught fully online using Desire2Learn.
Approved
by the National
Certification for
Activity Professionals (NCCAP #25126-10-M2-NT), this program
meets the education component of the modular education program, part one (MEPAP1). The
Basic Activity Program is required for both assistant and director
certification.
Upon
successful completion
of the Basic Activity
Program, participants
will be awarded
a 4 credit certificate of completion. |

Activity Management Program
(MEPAP Part 2) |
|
This
program is specifically designed and scheduled for those working in an
activity program and who are seeking certification or training as an
Activity Director. The management program consists of 4 credits of
curriculum and practicum experience. Students have the option of completing the program in one or two semesters. The
program is taught fully online using Desire2Learn.
Completion of the Basic Activity Program prior to the managment program is helpful
but not necessary. However, the Basic Activity Program is required as a
pre-requisite for
those professionals with less than two years activity experience. Upon
successful completion
of the Activity
Management Program,
the participant
will be awarded
a certificate of completion.
Approved
by the National
Certification Council
for Activity Professionals
(NCCAP #25125-10-M2-NT) for online delivery, this certificate program meets
the education standards of the modular education program, part two.
Certification as
an Activity Director, track 4,
requires completion
of the Basic and
Management programs and additional college credits. |
